Batz
Meet our turtoise Batz.
At the beginning of the war, animal shelters in the area near Gaza, which was attacked on October 7th, were evacuated. With the killing of over a thousand civilians that day, animal owners among them, dozens of animals arrived at our shelter, including Batz, a 50-year-old tortoise who came to us from Kibbutz Be'eri'.
Batz shares his life with Thelma and Louise, two miniature pigs rescued from an experimentation laboratory.
There have been heartwarming developments for Batz. We were overjoyed when a young female companion, 10-year-old Gabriella, recently joined him.
Some of the sanctuary's cats and roosters visit and sleep in the complex, finding comfort in the warmth of Batz, Gabrialle, Thelma, and Louise's home.
